Home FAQs FAQs FAQs What do people ask? How do I read my prescription for ordering eyeglasses? You should go to the ophthalmologist to check if you need glasses and to give you a prescription. First row of the prescription is usually for the right eye (OD) and second row is usually for the left eye (OS). The Values written on the prescription will be: SPH (Sphere), CYL (Cylinder), AXIS and PD. SPH value determines whether you are myopic or hyperopic. (-20.00<SPH<20.00) Negative SPH number is for nearsighted people and positive SPH number is for farsighted people. CYL and AXIS values are used for astigmatism correction. PD is the distance from the center of one pupil to the center of the other. You cannot order your glasses without the PD value. If your prescription also has ADD values, then these values will be used for the reading ability of Bifocal or Progressive Lenses. What is PD value and how we can measure it? Pupillary distance is measured in millimeters and is defined as the distance from the center of one pupil to the center of the other pupil. If you have a millimeter ruler and a mirror in your home? Then you are able to measure your PD yourself! Stand about 203 mm (or 8 inches) away from your mirror. Hold a ruler to your forehead. Close your right eye and align the 0 mm of the ruler with the center of your left pupil. Look straight ahead, then close your left eye and open your right eye. The mm line that lines up to the center of your right pupil is your PD. And you are done. You have now found the distance between the centers of your pupils which corresponds to the distance of the single pupil. How do I order just the frame? How do I get frames that fit me right/are my size? Measure Your Face Shape: Round Face: Look for angular or geometric frames to add definition. Frames with bold lines and sharp angles can complement a round face. Square Face: Choose rounded or oval frames to soften facial features. Cat-eye or oval-shaped frames work well for square faces. Oval Face: Lucky you! Oval faces can pull off most frame shapes. Experiment with different styles to find the ones you like best. Heart-shaped Face: Opt for frames with wider bottoms to balance the narrower forehead. Aviator or cat-eye frames can be flattering for heart-shaped faces. Diamond Face: Look for frames that highlight the eyes and cheekbones. Oval and rimless frames often complement diamond-shaped faces. Understand Frame Measurements: Lens Width (A): Measure the width of one lens horizontally in millimeters. Standard widths range from 48mm to 58mm. Bridge Width (B): Measure the distance between the lenses at the nose bridge. Typical bridge widths range from 16mm to 23mm. Temple Length (C): Measure the length of the temple arm from the hinge to the end. Standard lengths range from 135mm to 150mm. Frame Width (D): Measure the total width of the frame from temple to temple. Usually, this ranges from 120mm to 150mm.
